PORT ST. LUCIE – The City, in partnership with Archer Western Contractors, is hosting a job fair to hire workers for the Crosstown Parkway Extension Project.  By ensuring job opportunities are provided to local residents, the City is keeping the economic benefits associated with the project close to home.  The Crosstown Parkway Extension Job Fair will be held on Thursday, June 29 from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center, located at 9221 SE Civic Center Place in Port St. Lucie.  The job fair is free and open to the public.

At the job fair, job-seekers will have the opportunity to interact with the project contractor, Archer Western, and other construction-related businesses and receive information on open positions. Participating employers include the City of Port St. Lucie, the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Construction Career Consultant, Ranger Construction, CareerSource Research Coast, LF Staffing, Overland Contracting, Felix Associates of Florida, Inc., Zachry Industrial, Inc. and Express Employment Professionals.

Representatives from FDOT’s OnBoard4Jobs Construction Careers Program will be available at the event.  The program helps contractors across the state recruit for road projects all over the Sunshine State.  Job opportunities from entry level to experienced will be available.  In addition, representatives from CareerSource Research Coast will be on-hand to provide job-seekers with information on other construction-related jobs.

The Crosstown Parkway Extension Project will connect the existing Crosstown Parkway with U.S. Highway 1 at Village Green Drive.  The project will provide numerous benefits to the community, including providing traffic congestion relief from Port St. Lucie and Prima Vista Boulevards and a new emergency evacuation route.

Businesses involved in the job fair provide Equal Opportunity Employment (EOE), Disability/Veteran to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.  These businesses also promote a drug-free workplace.
