Construction activities have started on the east side for the Crosstown Parkway Extension Project. Currently, one eastbound and westbound lane is closed at Village Green for median removal and pavement construction. This limits the lanes on Village Green so one of two of the left southbound turn lanes on US 1 is also closed. Lane closure information is advertised with the Florida Department of Transportation and via the project website, www.crosstownextension.com.
Starting on Friday, the northbound traffic on Village Green will be shifted towards the median area and southbound roadway. A through lane in each direction and a left turn lane onto US-1 will remain open. The roadway will remain in this configuration for three to five months for construction activities including utility work, drainage and reconstruction of the north half of Village Green Drive. Accesses to businesses in this area will be maintained during working hours.
